Games Fun

Room 9 looked FABULOUS for our Games Day today.  Thank you for dressing up to represent 'Fiji' in such a fun way.  We all had a brilliant day and I am sure Room 9 would have been very tired after participating so enthusiastically.

Georgia was in charge of getting our class award from Mrs Warren.
After a busy day we are ready head back to Room 9.

Holly's Mozart Show

On Friday night I had the pleasure of taking Annabel and George to watch Holly's Jumping Mouse show.  Holy was amazing as a butterfly.  There were lots of other wonderful Year 1 children in the show from St Albans.  I loved going to both Holly and Georgia's shows! Fabulous acting girls.

Georgia's show - Jack and the Beanstalk

On Saturday night Mrs Allen had the absolute pleasure of taking Annabel and Thomas to watch Georgia perform in her Mozarts show "Jack and the Beanstalk."  Georgia was the Mum and also a Fairy.  She had lots of words to learn and looked amazing in her outfit - I loved the make-up too!  There were other children from St Albans School in the production which was a treat to see them perform too. You were a star Georgia!

The other side of Mrs Allen.....

Mrs Allen doesn't know this is going on our Blog but Mrs Toohey thought it was such a lovely photo of her that it needed to be shared!  Do you like her hair?  Mrs Allen was dressing up for our 'Race' with the teachers.  Ka pai Mrs Allen

Learning about Russia

Today we began our learning about Russia.  Many of us learnt how to say good morning in Russian.  We found a few ways to say good morning.  We will say this when the roll is taken.  Can you pronounce these Russian greeting? dobroye utro! (dohb-ruh-ee oo-truh): Good morning!  The most basic, informal phrase used to greet someone is “привет” (pri-VEET).

We also began to draw some Russian buildings using vivid, pastels and dye.  We look forward to having these bright pictures on our wall.  Our inspiration was taken from a book that James bought in to share with the class.  James's Mum comes from Russia and James can speak Russian really well.  We are looking forward to learning lots of interesting facts and information about Russia over the next two weeks.

Kiwi Cricket

On Monday we were lucky to have some Cricket experts come to school and teach us the fundamentals  for cricket: catching, throwing and batting.  We had loads of fun and here are a few photos before the camera battery went flat.  Has this inspired you to play cricket this summer?
